Our Mission

The mission of the Orangeburg County Fire District is to protect the lives and property of the people of Orangeburg County from fires, natural disasters, and hazardous materials incidents; to save lives by providing emergency medical services; to prevent fires through prevention and education programs.


 

Our History

Orangeburg County Fire District was created by County Ordinance in 1997. The district is a political subdivision of Orangeburg County. The fire commission is appointed by County Council. It is made up of seven dedicated business men and women whom reside within the district.

 

 
 

Fire Commission

The Fire Commission was created to serve as a fire protection district for the unincorporated areas and municipalities of Orangeburg, excluding the City of Orangeburg and the  area immediately surrounding the City and the Santee Fire Service District. The commission contracts with twenty-three incorporated volunteer fire departments for fire and emergency protection throughout the district.

 

 
 

Fire Services Office

The Fire Services Office (FSO) mission is to serve as the administrative support for the district and the volunteer fire department agencies. FSO is made up of the administrative, operations, training, fire marshal and maintenance divisions.
