Jeremy S. Jeffcoat
Training Officer
Chief Jeffcoat has proudly served the Orangeburg County Fire District since 2014 and has been in the fire service since 1998. As the Battalion Chief leading the Training Division, his responsibilities include:
Managing a Multi-faceted Training Center: This center offers personnel from all facets of the public safety realm the opportunity to use hands-on skills to ensure Everyone Goes Home.
Leading Monumental Progress: Under his leadership, the Training Center has become a staple in the region, with added administrative and classroom space and realistic props for fire, hazmat, emergency medical, technical rescue, tactical rescue, and WMD/terrorism response training.
Active Local Emergency Planning Committee Member: Chief Jeffcoat has served as the committee's Chair and Vice Chair.
Since becoming the Chief of Training, he has been the driving force behind the training aspect of our fire system. His dedication has proven an asset to the Fire Service in Orangeburg County. Significant achievements include:
Developing Key Partnerships: He has fostered partnerships between private fire brigades and the Training Center, providing a training outlet while reinvesting training fees into the center's improvements.
Collaborating with Agencies: He has worked with both governmental and non-governmental agencies, enabling municipal responders to handle real-life emergencies in actual workplace settings.
He holds credentials as a Chief Fire Officer and Training Officer, is a state fire academy-adjunct Instructor, an NREMT, and is certified as a Disaster Program Manager.
Before joining the Orangeburg County Fire District, Jeremy provided leadership for a multitude of preparedness and response activities and management of disaster operations while working as the Assistant Director of the Orangeburg County Office of Emergency Services and the State Disaster Relations Liaison/Planning and Preparedness Specialist for the American Red Cross in South Carolina.
Chief Jeffcoat lives in the charming Town of North with my amazing wife Stacy and their two beautiful children.
