Jeremy S. Jeffcoat
Training Officer

Chief Jeffcoat has proudly served the Orangeburg County Fire District since 2014 and has been in the fire service since 1998. As the Battalion Chief leading the Training Division, his responsibilities include:

• Managing a multi-faceted Training Center that offers personnel from all facets of the public safety realm to use hands-on skills to ensure Everyone Goes Home.

• Leading the Training Center through monumental progress to becoming a staple Training Center through the addition of administrative and classroom space and realistic props ranging from fire, hazmat, emergency medical, technical rescue, tactical rescue, WMD/terrorism response.

• Personal participation in the Local Emergency Planning Committee.

Since becoming the County Training Chief, he has been the driving force of the training aspect within our fire system. His dedication has proven a valuable asset to the Fire Service in Orangeburg County. He has made significant changes to ensure the continued success of the Training Division. A few of those successes include:

• Developing a partnership between private fire brigades and the Training Center to provide a training outlet while returning training fees to the improvements of the Training Center.

• Working with private industries to allow municipal responders the opportunity to respond to real-life emergencies in actual workplace settings.

He is a state fire academy instructor, NREMT, Fire Marshal and is certified as a Disaster Program Manager by the American Red Cross. Prior to joining the Orangeburg County Fire District, Jeremy provided leadership for a multitude of preparedness and response activities and management of disaster operations while working as the Assistant Director of the Orangeburg County Office of Emergency Services and the State Disaster Relations Liaison/Planning and Preparedness Specialist for the American Red Cross in South Carolina.

Chief Jeffcoat and his wife Stacy have two children and reside in the Town of North.
