Sean Nordaby
Asst. Training Officer

Captain Nordaby has been serving the Orangeburg County Fire District since 2022 and has been in the fire service since 2006. He started as a volunteer in New Jersey, then in 2013 made the move to South Carolina where he worked in The City of Goose Creek Fire Department and then The City of North Charleston Fire Department, where he obtained the rank of Engineer. 

In his role as the Assistant Fire Training Officer, his responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the day-to-day operations of the multi-faceted training center at the Orangeburg County Fire Service Office to include fire, hazmat, emergency medical, technical rescue, tactical rescue, and WMD/terrorism response. 

  • Ensuring the County Fire Department’s meet standards set forth by OSHA and NFPA by compiling training to be completed on a regular basis by its members.

  • Responds to incidents throughout the County to provide assistance and identify possible future training topics to ensure “Everyone Goes Home”

Captain Nordaby is a certified Firefighter 2, Fire Officer, Fire Service Instructor, NREMT, IFSAC pump operator, as well as holds certifications in technical rescue, confined space, and Scott’s SCBA repair technician course.

Captain Nordaby and his wife Andrea have two children and reside in the Town of Holly Hill.
